From our farm to your table, I hope you love our 100% vegan, gluten-free, nutritionally dense, delicious tempeh!
We make our tempeh in small batches on the Mendocino Coast with simple, whole ingredients, sourced from farmers we know! Supporting local, sustainable farms is at the core of our mission. Syd is a farmer herself and first got started with making tempeh using her own garden-grown quinoa, grains and beans. Through each bite you are nourishing your body, the earth, and our community!
Spicy Garden Herb
The one the started it all. This flavor-packed patty is filled with delicious garden seasonings and a zesty, spicy kick that will heat up your palette.
Pair with fresh fries (we like sweet potato!), veggies, or any side of your choosing. Try it with an ice cold beer or kombucha and make it Syd's way!
HANDMADE WITH CLEAN, HEALTHY INGREDIENTS FROM MENDOCINO COUNTY
Tempeh?
Tempeh is a fermented food originating from Indonesia where it is traditionally made from soybeans. At Syd’s Tempeh Co. instead of soybeans we use local grains and beans. It’s the perfect base for delicious, satisfying meals and it’s packed with nutrition!
The secret to tempeh lies in the wonderful magic of mycelium, the root-like structure of fungi which acts a network for growth and nutrient absorption. Packed with protein, nutrients, and fiber, tempeh offers easy digestion, enhanced nutrient absorption, and nourishment for a happy gut!
Lucky for us, the fermentation process makes nutrients more available, digestible, and adds a tasty umami flavor. Thanks myceli-YUM!
What we bring to the table
Simple, Healthy, Whole Food
Our tempeh is a gut-friendly, plant-based protein powerhouse, naturally structured by mycelium. Gluten-free and vegan, this product can be enjoyed by many!
Local & Sustainable
Our tempeh is sustainably grown by local farmers who we know and trust. We source from Mendocino or adjacent counties, and sell our tempeh in those same regions from which we grow it!
Nutrient-Packed Flavor
Working with local ingredients makes our tempeh special! At most grocery stores you can often only find classic soy tempeh. Utilizing local ingredients allows us to unlock creative potential of flavors and textures that we wouldn't be able to otherwise.
